The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team lost to New Zealand 24-0 in their semi-final at the Oceania 7s.
New Zealand led 19-0 at halftime.
New Zealand's tries were scored by Michaela Blyde, Portia Woodman, Gayle Broughton and Theresa Fitzpatrick.
Fiji had chances to score in the match but the tough New Zealand defense was hard to beat.
Fijiana captain Ana Maria Roqica says playing tough teams such as Australia and New Zealand sets a good platform for the 7s series.
Meanwhile, in the second women's semifinal Australia defeated PNG 25-7.
The women's final will be played at 7.06pm between Australia and New Zealand.
