Fijiana have to play in two competitions to qualify for Rio Olympics

The Telecom Fijiana 7s team will now have to play in two competitions to qualify for the Rio Olympics next year.

The side finished in 8th place in the World Rugby Women’s series and is already gearing up for the Pacific Games in July.

The Fijiana have a high chance of qualifying for the Olympics when they play in the Pacific Games and the Oceania qualifier.

Fijiana coach Iliesa Tanivula has already highlighted that they want to join the men’s team in Rio next year.

The Oceania region is expected to have six 7s rugby teams in the Olympic Games.

The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July.
