Jone Koroilagilagi Davule has qualified for the final of the 64kg division in the Amateur Boxing competition at the Pacific Games.
Davule won his bout against the boxer from Kiribati through a split decision.
Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Winston Hill was ruled out yesterday after his second round bout was stopped due to an accidental head clash.
Hill was trailing on points against his opponent when the fight was stopped due to the injury.
In the Men’s soccer competition, Fiji will need a win or a draw against Solomon Islands to qualify for the Bronze medal play‑off on Saturday. Fiji will face Solomon Islands in its final pool match at 6pm today.
The Fiji Women’s soccer team is currently playing Tonga in their final pool match.
It is very tight in Group A as Samoa has seven points while Fiji and Tonga have six points each.
Samoa will reach the gold final with a win over New Caledonia.
If Fiji and Tonga draw and Samoa lose, Fiji reach the gold medal match while Tonga goes to the third place play off and Samoa are out of the competition.
Meanwhile, Pacific Sprint King Banuve Tabakaucoro will run in the semifinal of the Men’s 200 metres at the Pacific Games at 3.15pm today.
Tabakaucoro won his heat with ease with a time of 21.20 seconds.
He holds the record in the 200 metres with a time of 20.53 seconds which he set in 2015.
