The Swire Shipping Fijian Latui are working on their defence, discipline and going into the breakdown ahead of this weekend’s match against the Western Force in the second round of the Rapid Rugby competition.

Coach, Senirusi Seruvakula admitted that the players made a lot of simple mistakes in the game against Kagifa Samoa last weekend which put them under pressure.

He says that its fairly good that they have played one game and have a fair idea on what needs to be amended ahead of their second match.

The Latui took on the Fiji Rugby Under 20 at a scrimmage session in Suva yesterday.

Meanwhile, for those new to the game, some laws for Rapid Rugby includes that any try‑scoring play that begins inside the team’s defensive 22 will be rewarded 9 points without conversion and is termed as Power Try

Any kick that goes over the sideline on the full will be turned over to the opposition at the point of where the kick was taken from, so keeping the ball in the field of play will be the aim of the game.

Players can be rotated for management or tactical reasons at any time during the match and then return to action when needed

The game is played for 35 minutes per half and the team that wins by 3 or more tries is awarded a 1 bonus point.

The Fijian Latui will take on the Western Force at 3.10pm this Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
