The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side will face Spain in the second cup quarterfinal of the Cape Town 7's after edging England 21-19 in their last pool match this morning.

Fiji had a slow start with a few missed tackles but responded with a try from Meli Derenalagi in the second minute of the game.

Aminiasi Tuimaba scored Fiji’s second try in the fourth minute cutting through the English defence.

With a yellow card to Vilimoni Botitu in the fifth minute for a deliberate knock on, it also opened up a gap for England to score their first try at the stroke of half time bringing the points  14-7 in favour of Fiji.

Fiji displayed great defensive structure in the second half and did not let England through.

Fiji scored their last try through Jerry Tuwai to take Fiji’s lead to 21-7.

England later scored two tries but was not enough to overcome the Fijians.

Fiji’s Captain Kalione Nasoko says they are now looking forward to the elimination round.

Fiji earlier defeated Kenya 38-7 while they thrashed France 50-0.

Jerry Tuwai scored two tries against France to reach 100 World 7's Series tries.
