The Vodafone Flying Fijians may have a chance to secure a home test match against the British and Irish Lions.
This comes after Lions great Brian O’Driscoll has called on the famous side to play a match in the Pacific Islands as part of their 2017 tour to New Zealand.
Speaking to Times sport in Ireland, O’Driscoll said it is a give and take situation and this will be a great opportunity for the people in the islands to see the Lions in action.
Meanwhile, IRB’s general manager for Oceania, William Glenwright said for the Lions to meet one of the Pacific Island teams will certainly improve the development of the game.
The Lions have played in Fiji before and lost 25-21 to the Flying Fijians in Suva in August, 1977.
