The Fiji National team went down to Wellington Phoenix side 2-1 in the friendly encounter at the ANZ Stadium.
Captain Roy Krishna broke the deadlock in the 34th minute of the first half after a through ball was provided by Ba sweeper Avinesh Swamy.
Just before half time the Wellington side equalised and both teams were locked 1-all at half time.
Due to lack of concentration the Wellington Phoenix side punished Fiji with a professional goal.
Fiji missed a few golden opportunities where strikers like Osea Vakatalesau could not score.
After the match Wellington captain Andrew Durante said his side made some bad decisions.
Roy Krishna was happy with the team’s performance and said if more game time is given the Fijian side can do lot better.
Meanwhile the Fiji under 23 side preparing for the Pacific Games defeated wellington phoenix premier side 2-1.
Fiji’s goals were scored by Christopher Wasasala and Savenaca Nakalevu.
