Fiji born winger Sevuloni Reece was the much needed spark for Waikato as they defeated Hawke’s Bay 42-22 to win their 11th Ranfurly Shield last night.
The 20 year old left winger was electric in many attacks, scoring one try and setting up several others in front of around 5000 people at FMG Stadium Waikato to help the Mooloos avoid the record of 'shortest reign ever', after only winning the famous trophy off Taranaki last Sunday.
Meanwhile Waikato’s first five‑eighth Fletcher Smith was perfect off the tee, as the hosts built on a 21‑15 halftime lead over Hawke’s Bay and then later piling on points in the final quarter.
