The Fiji Airways National team defeated Wales 21-7 in their second pool match of the Dubai 7s.
Fiji started off well with Vatemo Ravouvou scoring the first try in the first minute after Waisea Nacuqu’s sensational break.
Nacuqu was in blistering form and broke the Wales defence again resulting in Kalione Nasoko scoring Fiji’s second try.
Fiji led 14-0 at halftime.
Wales kept the pressure in the second half but Jasa Veremalua intercept forced Fiji’s third try to take the scores 21-0.
Discipline was a concern for the Gareth Baber coached side in the second half as Apisai Domolailai and Mesulame Kunavula were sin-binned causing the Fijians to play with only 5 players.
Wales utilised 2 extra men and managed to score a try to make it 21-7.
Fiji managed to hold on till the final whistle as they came out victorious 21-7.
Fiji thrashed Russia 50-7 in their first pool match.
The Jerry Tuwai captained side will face Australia in their final pool match at 4.06 tomorrow morning.
