There is good news for the effort to increase women participation in rugby this afternoon as the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and also handed over a cheque of $21,000 for the Raka 7s tournment.
Raka 7s Tournament Director, Ropate Kauvesi says this will also help raise the profile of female players and promote equality in rugby.
Over 80 teams are expected to participate in this year’s Raka 7s tournament with 64 men’s teams and 16 women’s team with the prize money for the winner of the women’s games expected to be $10,000.
The tournament will be held at the ANZ national stadium on the 30th November and the 1st of December.
