The Fiji Under 23 soccer team will be looking to start their Pacific Games campaign on a high when they take on Vanuatu tomorrow.
Fiji last won gold in the soccer competition in the 2003 Pacific Games which was held in Suva.
They will also have a mammoth task in their first game against Vanuatu as the last time the two sides met, Fiji lost 1-nil last month in the Four Nations Friendship Cup.
Fiji also held two build up matches before the Pacific Games playing the Wellington Phoenix Premiers.
They won one out of the two games.
Fiji is in group A with Tahiti, Vanuatu and the Federated States of Micronesia.
This year’s soccer competition in the Pacific Games is also an Olympic qualifier and will also feature the NZ under 23 side.
The Fiji Under 23 soccer team will play Vanuatu at 4pm tomorrow.
