Sevens gold winning Captain and Coach, Osea Kolinisau and Ben Ryan will be the top favorites to scoop the 2016 Fiji Sports Awards.
Kolinisau and Ryan have been nominated for the best sportsman and best coach of the year awards respectively.
Manueli Tulo from Weightlifting, Roy Krishna from Soccer, Leslie Copeland from Athletics Fiji and Joji Veremalua of Karate Fiji are some of the other nominees for the Sportsman award.
Ben Ryan will compete with Josefa Atekini Vueti of Weightlifting, David Qiolevu of Karate Fiji and Harvi Yee for the coach of the year award.
Sisilia Seavula of Athletics Fiji, Ana Maria Roqica of Fiji Rugby, Eileen Cikamatana of Weightlifting and Merewalesi Roden of Table Tennis are some nominees for the Sportswoman award.
The Fiji Sports Awards will be held on the 17th of next month to acknowledge the hard work and commitment by both athletes and those behind the scenes in sports in Fiji in 2016.
A total of 64 nominations have been received by the Fiji Sports Awards Committee from 17 Sporting Federations vying for a total of 11 awards.
In addition to the annual theme this year of “Celebrating Sporting Excellence”, the 2016 Sports Awards will also celebrate Fiji’s Olympiad year.
