The 2018 Fiji Secondary School Basketball Championship is set to begin tomorrow as tournament organizers finalise the last round of draws.
Basketball Fiji Sports Development Officer, Kenneth Taliu says that this year’s tournament will be an exciting competition for the players and the schools adding that 38 teams and more then 300 athletes have confirmed their participation.
St John’s College and Suva Grammar School Under 19 head into this year’s competition as defending champions.
Taliu says that this year will be interesting to see the challenge that will be presented by rugby giants and first timers RKS as well as QVS who are also looking to make their presence felt in this year’s National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship.
Taliu says that the competition will have three grades in the U15, U17 and U19 for both the boys and girls divisions.
He says other big schools to look out for at the tournament include, Tilak High School, Yat Sen Secondary School, Gospel High School, Marist Brothers High School, Natabua High School and SVC.
The National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will be held from next Monday to Wednesday at the FMF Gymnasium and Ed’s Court.
