The Fiji Paralympic Committee is working to slowly develop their athletes, preparing them for the 2020 Paralympic Games that will be held in Tokyo, Japan.
Committee member and coach Fred Fatiyaki says that they have a couple of athletes who are working hard to get to qualifying standards to compete at the Paralympic Games.
Fatiyaki stated two athletes who have been consistent are Iosefo Rakesa, who is trying to qualify for short put and Javelin and also Mere Rodan who competes in Table Tennis.
Rakesa will be participating in the Para Championships next year while Rodan will be participating in Slovenia for the 2018 World Para Table Tennis Championship.
Fatiyaki says that the partnership that they have now made with Asco Motors will greatly assist in the preparations of the athletes.
