The men’s and women’s hockey teams are gearing up to defend their Pacific Games gold medals in Papua New Guinea.
Head Coach, Hector Smith says their preparations began last year through the Pacific Cup which was held in Fiji.
Smith adds that last Friday they released names of nine players who will represent Fiji in the first of its kind five a-side tournament in the Pacific Games.
He says both the men’s and women’s teams have a balance of youth and experienced players.
Smith also says the biggest threat for Fiji will be host PNG and Vanuatu.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of July in Papua New Guinea.
