The Fiji Football Association will start an investigation regarding a commotion at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba involving senior national team officials and some players who are part of Fiji Under 23 trials.
Fiji FA’s CEO Mohammed Yusuf confirms that they have received a complaint from the Ba Football Association and the incident is alleged to have taken place last week while the players were about to disperse after the week long trials.
While the Fiji FA has not released further details addressed in the complaint by Ba FA, Legend FM Sports understands that a senior coaching staff had an aggressive behavior while the players were being counseled.
Yusuf says they are now getting written statements from all officials who were present at the Fiji FA Academy.
Yusuf has also revealed that nine players who are part of Fiji Under 23 trials have been found positive for drug use and have been indefinitely suspended.
He says the players will be tested again after 30 days and if found positive, they can face a minimum of two year ban from all levels of soccer.
Meanwhile, Ba will face Labasa at 1.15pm this Saturday at Subrail Park in Week 2 of the Vodafone Premier League. On Sunday, Nasinu will play Rewa at Ratu Cakobau Park, Lautoka will host Suva while Tavua will play Nadi at Garvey Park.
