The Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel, its board members and the entire football fraternity is in mourning the loss of Rewa U16 player Rayshal Roy.
Roy drowned while having a family picnic at Kiuva Beach on Sunday.
In a statement, Patel says they have lost an upcoming player and a true son of Fiji adding one who had football in his heart.
He says Roy had been playing for Rewa U‑16 with distinction, he was a prospect that undoubtedly would have had a bright future in the game.
Patel adds that no words can fully express their grief and dismay at seeing this happen, and they can only pass on all their thoughts and prayers to the friends and family of Rayshal Roy and hope they will get some strength from the out pouring of love and support from everyone.
