After their historic quarterfinal win over the New Zealand Kiwis last Saturday, the Vodafone Fiji Bati are on reset mode and start from scratch to prepare for the Australian Kangaroos in the semifinals of the Rugby League World Cup.
The national side arrived in Brisbane last night where they were greeted by a huge number of Fijian supporters at the airport.
Australia have been denying the Bati in their last two semifinals of the World Cup in 2008 and 2013 with huge wins.
Some of the players who featured for the Bati in the last two World Cups are Akuila Uate, James Storer and Ashton Sims while Jarryd Hayne played in 2008 and prominently featured for the Kangaroos in 2013 where he scored four tries against the Bati in the semis.
Bati captain Kevin Naiqama says they will regroup and refocus for the big one this weekend.
The Bati’s defence were solid against New Zealand but coach Mick Potter says they still have to polish out some areas ahead of the Kangaroos clash.
The Kangaroos will host the Fiji Bati at 10pm Friday in the first semifinal while Tonga will take on England at 6pm Saturday in the second semis.
The final will be played at 10pm next Saturday.
