Fiji Bati 5th in Rugby league rankings

Following the success of the 2017 Rugby League World Cup, the new world rankings have been announced.

The Fiji Bati after having reached the semi final at the Rugby league World Cup have jumped from 7th to 5th place.

Lebanon are the main movers, up nine places from 18th into the top ten, whilst the Tongan rugby league team have jumped from 11th to fourth in the world rankings after their stellar run in the recent World Cup.

Rugby League International Federation chief executive David Collier said that the rankings are a statistically‑weighted reflection of results over the past five years, with greater emphasis on recent displays.

World champions Australia remain the top side while New Zealand is second and England third.

7 Scotland
