The Fiji Barbarians 7s team is through to the Cup quarterfinal of the Silicon Valley 7s despite only managing to get one win the pool stages yesterday.
Fiji will meet USA in the second Cup quarterfinal at 9.26 this morning.
The Fiji Barbarians finished third in Pool B behind Australia and Japan but still had enough points to qualify for the last eight.
Fiji had lost 29‑nil to Australia, drew 26‑all with Japan and beat China 35‑15.
In other quarterfinals, Australia will meet New Zealand, England will face Samoa and Chile will meet Japan.
Meanwhile, the Oceania 7s will kick off this Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
The Fiji Airways national 7s team will meet New Caledonia at 4.40pm Friday in their first pool match and then face American Samoa at 7.40pm Friday in their second match.
The Oceania 7s women’s competition will kick off at 11am Friday.
The Fijiana will face Samoa at 11.40am and meet Tonga at 2.40pm Friday.
