The Vodafone Fiji 7s second string side has sent a strong statement to the New Zealand, Australia and Samoa 7s sides after thumping Tahiti 64-0 in their first pool game in the Oceania 7s Tournament.
It was a brilliant show of skills from Jerry Tuwai and experience from veteran Nasoni Roko.
The national side crossed over with ten unanswered tries with Jerry Tuwai scoring three, Eminoni Nasilasila and Roko scoring two tries each while Vatemo Ravouvou, Eminoni Nasilasila, Niko Verekauta and Sitiveni Waqa scored one each.
Fiji will now face Solomon Islands at 3pm before taking on Cook Islands at 6pm.
Looking at other results, American Samoa drew 12-all with PNG, New Zealand thrashed Niue 57-7 while Cook Islands beat Solomon Islands 21-5.
Meanwhile, the Telecom Fijiana Sevens team also won their first game after thumping Papua New Guinea 38-0.
The Elimination rounds and the finals will be played tomorrow.
