The Fiji Airways Men’s National Sevens team has completed a recovery session, been in the gym and conducted one field session since arriving in Cape Town for this weekend’s second round of the HSBC 7's series.
Head Coach Gareth Baber says that Jerry Tuwai is on the mend after suffering a dislocated finger over the weekend.
Baber says that Tuwai should be fit before he names the team for Cape Town.
Baber has also confirmed that Amenoni Nasilasila and Beniamino Vota both received three‑match suspensions last weekend for dangerous tackles, they have served one match and will be unavailable for selection in the first two pool games for Cape Town.
Whilst not satisfied with the final standing in Dubai, Baber says that the entire squad, including debutant Ratu Meli Derenelagi will be working hard on the training track ahead of this important next round in the series.
Fiji is pooled with England, France and Kenya in the Cape Town 7s.
Fiji will take on France in their first pool match at 9.59pm this Saturday.
They will take on Kenya at 1.20am Sunday and then play their last pool match against England at 5.03am Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 11.04pm Sunday, semifinals will start at 3.34am Monday and the Cup Final will be played at 6.44am Monday.
