The Vodafone Fiji 7s training squad has scheduled training sessions with their new coach's former team, Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong 7s team is in Fiji to prepare to participate at the weekend's Coral Coast Sevens in Sigatoka as one of two fully fledged international sides.
The other international team is Germany.
Coach Gareth Baber was able to organise the session that will feature the extended squad preparing for the upcoming Wellington and Sydney legs of the World Sevens Series.
Interim‑Hong Kong coach Jevon Groves said they will benefit from playing against one of the best teams in the world.
The last time the two sides officially met was at the 2015 Japan Sevens which Fiji won 35‑14.
The Hong Kong 7s team is pooled with Naviti Ratu Filise, Wardens and Coastline Roos in the Coral Coast 7s.
Meanwhile, the Fiji 7s team to the Wellington 7s will be announced later this week.
Fiji will play Australia in their first pool match at 10.46am next Saturday before facing Japan at 2.10pm.
Their last pool match will be against South Africa at 6.18pm next Saturday.
The medal quarterfinals will begin at 11.38am next Sunday while the semifinals will begin at 4.16pm.
The medal final for the Wellington 7s will be held at 7.30pm next Sunday.
