Boxer Joseph Parker’s handlers are close to sealing a deal for the WBO champion to defend his belt against Hughie Fury.
Top Rank boss Bob Arum who co‑promotes Parker with the heavyweight’s New Zealand promotional team at Duco Events, confirmed that discussions with Fury's promoter Frank Warren are advancing.
Arum says April 1st or 8th were the preferred dates for a fight with the venue likely to be in New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Arum confirms that he and Warren are also discussing two other top fights while Arum is also trying to nail down Manny Pacquiao’s defence of his WBO welterweight title against Jeff Horn in Australia in April.
He adds that WBC champion Deontay Wilder has also emerged as a possibility to fight Parker, with the American saying he is willing to take on the Kiwi in April.
