The fallout from the Australian Rugby Union’s decision to cut the Western Force from Super Rugby looks set to continue with the news that some Australia supporters will boycott the Rugby Championship clash between the Wallabies and the Springboks in Perth on September 9th.
There was always going to be considerable outrage on whichever team, the Western Force or the Melbourne Rebels, was to be axed but to make matters worse for the Australian Rugby Union, the saga looks set to affect their most prized asset, the Wallabies.
Michael Cheika’s side are currently preparing for their Bledisloe Cup encounter with the All Blacks which takes place next Saturday but they may be faced with the unprecedented situation whereby the colours of the home side will be outnumbered by a rival team for the Springboks clash in Perth next Saturday.
According to Fox Sports to make matters worse, Western Force supporters who had tickets for the Wallabies match are currently looking for refunds.
The Wallabies will take on the All Blacks at 10pm Saturday.
