The FRU Skipper Provincial 10's Tournament is set to be held today with players from the eight provincial teams vying for a spot in the Fiji 10's team that will be making their debut at the Brisbane Global 10's next month.
Yesterday, Jacks of Fiji Qaqa presented the playing kits for the 7 different teams and also partnered with FRU with a sponsorship of $10,000.
The seven teams include Navosa, Namosi, Malolo, Suva, Rewa, Nadi and Naitasiri.
Meanwhile, Fiji Airways Drua captain John Stewart will be playing for Suva today.
Stewart has not been considered for the second leg of the 2017/2018 World Sevens Series and believes he still have a lot of work to do to make the Fiji 7s team.
Looking at the first round of games this morning, Nadroga will take on Malolo at 9am, Suva will face Navosa at 9.22am, Nadroga will then take on Naitasiri at 9.44am, Malolo will meet Navosa at 10.06am, Nadi against Namosi at 10.28am while Suva will take on Rewa at 10.50am.
The FRU Skipper Provincial 10's Tournament will be held at Bidesi and Buckhurst Park with $5 entry fee.
The winner will walk away with $5,000.
The FRU will be announcing the names of the Fiji 10's team after the final while the Brisbane Global 10's will be held from the 9th to the 10th of next month.
Fiji is pooled with the Brumbies, Crusaders and the Hurricanes.
