Former Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho has agreed to a prison term in Spain for tax fraud but will not go to jail.
The one‑year prison term will be exchanged for a fine of about $438,000 which will be added to a separate fine of $FJ4M.
Spain rarely enforces sentences of less than two years for non‑violent or first‑time offenders.
Mourinho was accused of owing 3.3 million euros to Spanish tax authorities from 2011 to 2012 when he was managing Real Madrid.
He created offshore companies to manage his image rights and hide the earnings from tax officials.
Meanwhile, in the English Premier League tomorrow defending champions Manchester City will take on Everton at 7.45am.
