Eoin Morgan broke the record for the number of sixes in a one‑day international with an astonishing display of hitting in England's 150‑run Cricket World Cup win over Afghanistan.
Morgan went past the previous best of 16, jointly held by Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma, and England's total of 25 sixes also set a new record for any team in an One Day International innings.
England have now moved to the top of the group table while Afghanistan remain at the bottom, having lost all five of their games.
England will now play Sri Lanka at 9.30pm this Friday while Afghanistan will play India at 9.30pm this Saturday.
New Zealand will play South Africa at 9.30 tonight.
The group stage format is a round robin, where all ten teams play each other once, in a single group.
This means a total of 45 matches will be played, with each team playing a total of nine matches.
The top four teams from the group will progress to the semi finals.
England lead the points table, Australia are in second place, New Zealand in are third place while India come in fourth.
The first semifinal will be played on the 9th of next month at 9.30pm while the second semi final will be played on the 10th of next month at 9.30pm.
The final will be played on the 14th of next month.
