It started with a famous win over Saints and ended with another crushing victory over the Dragons 30 years later.
The Eels led by new cult hero Bevan French farewelled their spiritual home, Parramatta Stadium with a convincing 30‑18 win over the Dragons in front of 13,553 emotional fans last night.
It was a similar result in the very first game played at Parramatta Stadium on March 16th, in 1986 when Parramatta beat St George 36‑6 before a crowd of 27,870.
Parramatta Stadium will now be knocked down with some fans trying to rip‑up seats after last night’s match to keep as souvenirs.
French scored three tries in a dazzling performance against a Dragons side without dropped star Benji Marshall.
Meanwhile, the Broncos will take on the Roosters at 9.50pm Thursday in the last round of the NRL.
