The Lautoka soccer team has faced a major setback ahead of the final of the OFC Champions League as top striker, Samuela Drudru has been suspended by the Oceania Football Confederation.
The OFC has suspended Drudru from all levels of football for seven matches and has also fined him NZD$7,500.
Drudru passed a racial comment to the referee who officiated in Lautoka's semi‑final clash against Marist FC at Churchill Park last month.
The decision was made by the OFC Disciplinary Committee yesterday.
This now means that Lautoka will play Team Wellington tomorrow in New Zealand without Drudru and Zibraaz Sahib.
Both have been Lautoka's regulars.
Sahib could not get a visa to travel to New Zealand.
Lautoka will face Team Wellington at 2pm tomorrow in the first leg of the OFC Champions League final.
