Fiji Airways Drua prop Kalivati Tawake has been ruled out of this weekend’s clash against the Greater Sydney Rams after an injury to his knee against the Canberra Vikings last Friday.
Drua General Manager Chris Thomson confirmed to Legend FM Sports that Tawake has returned to Fiji to undergo a review program before proper treatment.
Thomson says they have done the review of last week’s game and have put their focus on the Rams.
He believes they were caught off guard against the Vikings last Friday.
Thomson says the Drua will not use the cold weather as an excuse.
Meanwhile, the clash between the Drua and the Rams is also the challenge for the Horan‑Little Shield which is equivalent to New Zealand's Ranfurly Shield.
The Shield is named after former Wallaby players Tim Horan and Jason Little to symbolise friendship and community.
Horan and Little played together and against each other from junior club level all the way up to become Australia's centre field partnership in winning the Rugby World Cup.
The Drua will take on the Greater Sydney Rams at 4pm Saturday.
