The Fiji Airways Drua came from behind in the second half to defeat the Sydney Rays 34‑31 in round 4 of the National Rugby Championship.
Alivereti Veitokani was in brilliant form scoring two tries for the Drua.
Drua’s only first‑half try came from Veitokani 5 minutes before half time.
Apisalome Waqatabu came off the bench in the second half to score two tries for the Drua.
The Sydney Rays were leading the Drua 19‑5 in the first half.
The Rays scored their first try within the first 8 minutes of the game and proved hard to stop.
Three minutes later, the Rays scored their second try while the Drua continued to make basic mistakes in the first half.
Other tries for the Fiji Drua came from Albert Tuisue and Cyril Reece.
Drua forward Albert Tuisue acknowledged the players for their performance in the 80 minutes.
The Drua and Queensland Country are now tied at the top of the NRC point’s table with 14 points.
The NSW Country Eagles will face the Drua at 3pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
