Digicel Fiji has given $8000 cash sponsorship to Special Olympics Fiji for the Fiji Invitational Regional Games that will be held in Suva next week.
CEO, Mike Greig says they are delighted to partner with Special Olympics Fiji to support them in their 50th year celebrations and the hosting of the Fiji Invitational Regional Games.
He says Special Olympics is a passion for their founder and Chairman, Denis O’Brien and they are excited to be able to mirror this in Fiji.
Greig says they are happy to see this partnership promote an inclusive society and most importantly provide a platform to develop and provide opportunities for people to realise their potential and strive for excellence for all different abilities.
Special Olympics Fiji will host athletes from PNG, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Nauru and Kiribati including around 300 Fijians.
Special Olympics Fiji Chairman, Bishwa Sidal says there will be competition in Athletics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Football and Netball.
