Defeating Ba in the semi‑final of the Fiji FACT was the biggest achievement of my career - Coach Kumar

The biggest achievement in my coaching career was when we defeated Ba in the semi‑final of the Fiji FACT.

Former Tavua and Suva football coach Saroj Kumar made this comment while speaking to Fiji FA media. Kumar says in his coaching career he had never won against Ba and thanked the Suva side for giving him the great farewell gift by beating the traditional giants of Fiji Football.

The former school teacher got his last job coaching Suva in the 2019 Vodafone Fiji FACT and also coached Tavua when the Gold Miners were promoted to Premier Division in 2017.

He also won the silver medal during the 2017 OFC U19 Women’s Championship when he was given the opportunity to coach the team.

Kumar, who left our shores last week, added that it was very hard for him to leave Fiji but he has made a lot of memories in his coaching career and will be taking them with him.

Kumar is expected to join as an assistant coach in at a football academy soon in New Zealand.
