The Davetalevu rugby club will be the first ever local 7s side to take part in the World Club 7s which will be held in Ireland, next week.
This was confirmed to Fijivillage by team manager and coach Paula Biu.
Biu said the sides have been invited to play in the tournament with its record of winning major sevens tournaments around the world.
Other top teams that will be playing in the tournament include New South Wales Waratahs, Auckland Blues, Bulls, Saracens, Munster, Western Province and Stade Francais.
The Davetalevu rugby club will be leaving for Ireland tomorrow and the World Club 7s kicks off next Saturday with Davetalevu taking on Saracens in their first pool match.
