Local boxer Rakuro Daunivavana is now the holder of Fiji’s Welterweight Title after his opponent in today’s bout Ronald Naidu pulled out of the fight.
Naidu pulled out citing medical reasons eventhough doctors cleared him for the fight.
He was experiencing pain in his arms.
Naidu didn't attend the weigh-in for the fight yesterday.
South Pacific Boxing Director Mohammed Shameem has confirmed to us that the title will be awarded to Rakuro Daunivavana.
Daunivavana wins the title by default.
In the main bout, Joseph Kwadjo will take on Savenaca Naliva for Fiji’s Light Heavyweight title fight at Prince Charles Park.
