National Rugby Championship leading try scorer and Queensland Country winger Filipo Daugunu is on the Queensland Reds radar for a development player contract.
Daugunu burst his way into this year’s NRC with pace and sharp anticipation to intercept and score tries.
The former Labasa goalkeeper has been exceptional in Queensland Country’s rise to second place in the NRC and he’s done it under the guidance of new Reds coach Brad Thorn.
When asked if Daugunu and big winger Eto Nabuli will be a threat this weekend, Fiji Airways Drua Manager Chris Thompson says they will focus on Queensland Country as a whole.
Daugunu was part of the Fiji 7s training squad last year before securing a contract to play in Australia.
The Drua will host Queensland Country at 2pm Saturday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentary on our sister station Viti FM 92.2FM.
