Masivesi Dakuwaqa’s mother remembers how her son struggled at the beginning of his rugby career when she looks at what he has achieved now.
Kelera Vuetibau says she recalls when Dakuwaqa wanted sporting gear like boots, pants, and t-shirts but could not afford it.
Vuetibau says she used to mend Dakuwaqa’s training shorts and t-shirts because they could not get new ones.
She says her son is very special in his own way.
Vuetibau says Dakuwaqa would train from the airport where he worked as a Security Officer to their family house in Waqadra, Nadi which simply showed how much passion he had for rugby.
She says she was very supportive of every decision her son would make as his father is not with them anymore.
Dakuwaqa’s dad passed away four years ago.
She thanked him for keeping the values taught from home which has made him what he is today.
