Cuvu College U18 rugby team is preparing a strong defensive structure as they get ready to take on Natabua High School in this weekend's semi-finals Western Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Competition.
Cuvu College who is the defending champion of the Western Zone defeated Ratu Navula College in the Western Zone final last year, however their hopes of winning the Deans Trophy was shattered by Ratu Kadavulevu School Deans semifinals.
The Nadroga side has so far been ruthless in their line of defense, losing just one of the five games they have played.
Cuvu College Principal, Navneet Mishra says they are predicting a strong challenge from Natabua, however he says that they are ready to take on the challenge.
Cuvu College will take on Natabua in the second semi-final of the Western Zone Rugby Competition while Ratu Navula College will take on Sigatoka Methodist High School in the first semifinal.
Both games will be played at Prince Charles Park this Saturday starting at 2pm while other grades semifinals will start at 8.30am.
In the semifinals of the Eastern Zone, Ratu Kadavulevu School will take on Queen Victoria School while St John’s College from Levuka will face Lelean Memorial School at Ratu Cakobau Park on Saturday.
In the semifinals for the Southern Zone, Suva Grammar School will play Marist Brothers High School while Nasinu Secondary School will take on John Wesley College this Saturday at Suva Grammar Grounds.
The national quarterfinals for the Coke Zero Deans will be held on the 28th of this month, the semifinals will be held on August 4th and the final will be played on August 11th.
All games will be played at the ANZ Stadium.
