Cuvu College U18 in action against Lelean Memorial School U18 at the Powerade Super Deans Championship last weekend

Cuvu College only has one team in the Powerade Super Deans Championship this weekend and that’s in the Under 18 grade.

They have been termed as “Mighty Cuvu” by their opponents this weekend, Marist Brother’s High School.

Cuvu College caused a major upset last weekend when they knocked out Lelean Memorial School 20‑14 in the Under 18 quarterfinal.

The Nadroga based school has so far been ruthless in their line of defense which they have improved since their hopes of winning the Deans Trophy was shattered by Ratu Kadavulevu School Deans in the semifinals last year.

The difference for Cuvu College every year has been the assistance they have been receiving from the Nadroga rugby team.

Cuvu College is one of three schools in the West that’s playing in the semifinals.

Natabua High School in the Under 16 grade, Ratu Navula College who has qualified for the Under 17 and Under 18 semifinals and Cuvu College will compete in the Under 18 grade.

In the Under 18 semi finals, Cuvu College will take on Marist Brothers High School at 2.30pm while defending champion Ratu Kadavulevu School will take on western giant Ratu Navula College at 4pm this Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
