It will truly be the last chance for the Crusaders to claim a play‑off spot when they face the Hurricanes at Trafalgar Park in Nelson tonight.
The Crusaders currently sit in ninth spot on the overall standings, seven points off the knockout positions with three games left to play in the season.
A loss to the Super Rugby competition leaders will mean that their campaign will be deemed a failure by supporters, management, coaches and the players while the Hurricanes are confident that they will continue to impress under coach Chris Boyd.
Out of the last six Super Rugby matches between the Crusaders and the Hurricanes the Crusaders have won just one match.
Tonight, the Crusaders meet the Hurricanes at 7.35pm while Brumbies clash with the Bulls at 9.40pm.
On Saturday, the Sharks face the Rebels at 5.10am while the Highlanders meet the Chiefs at 7.35pm.
