The Crusaders rugby franchise have defended their name amid concerns around its sensitivity following the Christchurch mosque shootings.
To most people in Canterbury, the name Crusaders means a champion rugby team who has won more Super Rugby titles than any other side.
But to others it carries undertones of religious wars and hatred.
Following the fatal shootings of 50 people at two Christchurch mosques on Friday, some social media commentators suggested it was time for the Crusaders to change their name.
The Crusaders, however, released a statement saying their name was "a reflection of the crusading spirit of this community", not "a religious statement".
Meanwhile, the Rebels remain winless in South Africa after blowing a four try lead to lose 36 33 to the Lions at Ellis Park.
An 82nd minute penalty to exciting playmaker Gianni Lombard from out wide sealed the controversial, come from behind victory by the runners up from the last three seasons.
In other results, the Chiefs and Hurricanes drew 23‑all, the Brumbies beat the Waratahs 19‑13, the Stormers defeated the Jaguares 35‑8 and the Reds edged the Sunwolves 34‑31.
