Crusaders Head Coach Scott Robertson has given an extended break for Scott Barrett and Matt Todd ahead of their match against the Lions this Friday.
The pair will take their second and final All Blacks rest this weekend, meaning the Crusaders will be without two more frontline forwards against the Lions.
Tighthead prop Owen Franks had already been ruled out of the rematch of the last two finals due to a nagging shoulder injury, which is expected to be re‑scanned in the next fortnight.
The Crusaders continue to lead the Super Rugby standings after Round 10 of the competition with 34 points, second are the Rebels with 24 points while the Bulls are third with 23 points.
In Super Rugby this week, the Crusaders meet the Lions in Christchurch at 7.35pm Friday and the Highlanders meet the Sunwolves at 10pm Friday.
The Hurricanes meet the Chiefs at 7.35pm Saturday in Wellington while the Sharks meet the Waratahs at 9.45pm Saturday in Sydney.
