Aaron Cruden needs to pass a few checks on his neck before he can return to rugby.
The All Blacks first‑five was cleared of a serious injury after being stretchered off the field in the second test against Wales, but sat out the series finale.
Cruden's been named in the Chiefs' touring party for Friday's Super Rugby match against the Crusaders in Suva and says their first contact session in Fiji will be crucial.
The Chiefs left for Suva this morning.
The Chiefs will host the Crusaders at 7.35pm Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
