Team Fiji has won its first gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.
19‑year‑old Eileen Cikamatana has won gold for Team Fiji after lifting a total of 233kg in the women's 90kg weight category at the weightlifting competition at the Commonwealth Games.
Cikamatana lifted 103kg in the Snatch category and 130kg in the Clean and Jerk to win gold for Fiji.
This is the second medal for Team Fiji at the 2018 Commonwealth Games after Apolonia Vaivai settled for a bronze medal in the women's 69kg weight category on Sunday.
Australia settled for silver while Cameron got bronze.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Pearls were thrashed last night by the Australian Diamonds 108-23 in their third Pool match.
The Diamonds dominated all four quarters of the match led the Fiji Pearls 55-15 at half time.
The Vicki Wilson‑coached side went down to Barbados 65 ‑ 44 in their second pool match.
They led in the first quarter 12 ‑9 however contact and obstruction penalties in the second half had them trailing Barbados 11 ‑ 17.
The Pearls had also earlier lost their first Pool match to Jamaica 88‑30.
The Fiji Pearls will now face South Africa at 8.32pm tonight.
