The Chiefs are still sweating on the health of a number of key players heading into Friday night's quarter‑final clash with the Hurricanes.
The good news for coach Colin Cooper and his squad is that at least three of the six players who missed Friday's playoff dress rehearsal win are on track for the do‑or‑die encounter.
Nepo Laulala, Damian McKenzie, and Charlie Ngatai are all looking likely, while captain Sam Cane is also confident he'll be cleared after a final gym session and contact training later in the week.
Less promising are the statuses of Nathan Harris, Toni Pulu and Sean Wainui.
In this week’s Super Rugby quarter finals, the Hurricanes take on the Chiefs at 7.35pm Friday, defending champions, Crusaders will meet the Sharks at 7.35pm Saturday, the Waratahs the only Australian team in the Super Rugby finals face the Highlanders at 10.05pm Saturday, while the Lions meet the Jaguares at 1.05am Sunday.
