Chiefs rugby representatives will say sorry to two female parking wardens who were sworn at by players for doing their jobs.
However, the wardens' boss thinks the guilty players themselves should front up, but there is no hint that will happen.
The Chiefs were training at Hamilton's Steele Park when at least two players verbally abused two female wardens after one of the players' cars was issued a $200 ticket for an expired warrant of fitness on Wednesday morning.
Also, a coaching staff member was issued a warning for reverse angle parking.
The Super Rugby franchise was coordinating an apology meeting for some time today with the council.
Chiefs coach Dave Rennie also said the Chiefs have been in discussion with council staff and "wholeheartedly" supported them in their stance against abuse of any of their staff.
New Zealand Rugby in a statement said it was aware the Chiefs were dealing with a situation and was seeking more information.
The parking warden incident comes after the Super Rugby franchise came under fire for allegations made against the team by a stripper who had alleged team members touched her inappropriately and verbally abused her at Hot Pools in August.
