Fiji Born Pita Gus Sowakula who put in outstanding shifts in the New Zealand derby against the Blues last week has been named to start for the Chiefs tonight.
Head Coach Colin Cooper says the Chiefs are ready for their first trans‑Tasman clash of the season when they take on the Reds.
Cooper has made four changes to his forward pack with the inclusion of Karl Tu’inukuafe, Liam Polwart and Tyler Ardron.
The backline is unchanged.
Brad Weber makes a return into the 23, now recovered from his wrist injury.
The Chiefs will take on the Reds at 9.45 tonight while the Crusaders will take on the Sunwolves at 7.35pm.
Tomorrow the Bulls face the Rebels at 1.05am, the Sharks meet the Stormers at 3.15am and the Jaguares take on the Rebels at 6.05am.
In the matches last night, the Highlanders have beaten the Blues 34‑16 and the Lions thrashed the Waratahs 29-0.
