The Blues' playoffs hopes are all over but they can still play an important role in this competition, starting this Friday against the Chiefs.
Should they beat the Chiefs, it would allow the second‑placed Hurricanes to further move ahead of Dave Rennie’s men on the points table.
Currently, both teams are on 43 competition points, with the Hurricanes on top thanks to their superior points differential, despite the fact the Chiefs beat them in Hamilton in March.
The Blues will host the Chiefs at 7.35pm Friday while the unbeaten Crusaders will travel to Melbourne to meet the Rebels at 9.35pm Saturday.
