The Chiefs will run out the majority of their big guns in their first Super Rugby pre‑season match against the Waratahs in Rotorua this Friday.
Coach Dave Rennie has included his three World Cup All Blacks ‑ Brodie Retallick, Sam Cane and Tawera Kerr‑Barlow ‑ in a 35‑man squad.
Cane, this season's co‑captain with Aaron Cruden, will lead the side, with Cruden still building up his contact work and set to play in the second and final pre‑season game against the Blues next Friday.
The Chiefs will play against the Waratahs at 4pm.
